Fun Times at MTI

Despite the long hours in class, we still had time for fun and fellowship and relaxation. Frisbee golf was a wonderful way to release some pent up energy. Many late nights were spent playing hearts or spades. Colorado Springs is such a beautiful area to explore the outdoors. One of our favorite spots was the Garden of the Gods. It was so beautiful to see the red rocks shooting out of the ground heading towards the heavens.
We mde some wonderful friends during our time in Colorado. It was a wonderful experience spending five weeks with other missionaries who were preparing themselves for a life of adventure all over the world.

FRIENDS

On our journey to Cologne, Germany, we had no idea what blessings would cross our path. Perhaps the most unexpected blessing were the remarkble friends we made. With these friends, we laughed and cried, shared our hearts and worked along side them. Here are just a few of them.
Marney & Will
An amazing couple who truly know how to encourage those around them.

THANK YOU!!!

Miracle Toy Sale

One of Abby's friends Tyler wanted to help us raise money for Germany. Her idea was to gather together toys that kids no longer played with and sell them at her birthday party. Tyler and Abby went round every class in the elementary school asking for toys. As planned, the sale went on during Tyler's birthday party. In the end, this little toy sale resulted in raising $1432. God has such a wonderful sense of humor.

Richies Diner

One of the local resturants, Richies Diner held a fund raiser for us. That evening about 200 friends lined up at the resturant to support our ministry to Germany. It was one of the most amazing feelings, when Jack the resurant owner asked how many were there on behalf of the Andersons. About 3/4 of the resturant raised their hands and cheered. What an incredible affirmation to know we were not alone on this journey to Cologne, Germany.

Christmas Boutique

At Christmas time a few friends donated their home made craft items for us to sell in the Christmas boutique. We filled up a couple of tables with a variety of gifts. Even Emma our dear little friend knitted scarfs and scruntches to sell. Over two craft fairs we raised about $1000. Again, we were blessed beyond our wildest dreams.

Blessings Abound through Garage Sales

It's hard to imagine that our three car garage was completely filled with donations from over 40 individuals and families. The overflow of items went into our front room. There were days when we returned home and furniture and knick knacks had been left along side the house. Never in our wildest dreams could we have ever imagined the generosity of so many.
A very special thanks to mom, Kristie, Donna, Sheri, Derick, Steve, Pam, and the kids. These dear friends came to help with the sorting, setting up, selling and clearing up afterwards. Thanks to so many who blessed us so graciously.

Shoes Anyone?

One of our big donations were shoes. Audra (on right), being the "Shoe Lady" gravitated to them immediately. She and Abby were quick to put them in pairs and line them up ever so neatly. No matter the style or size, we were sure to have it.

The Garage Sale Team

These friends and mom, were faithful in helping us throught the garage sale phase. We started as early as 5:30am and continued until 4pm. There is absolutely no way we could have managed this feat on our own. In three garage sales we raised over $4000. A modern day five loaves and two fish story.

Abby and Audra's Church Grandparents

Very early on in our journey we visited a home filled with the most amazing folks. The Robinson Home group came along side us like no other. They have become such a huge part of our lives. This group became our faithful prayer warriors for Abby and Audra. They have walked beside us and encouraged us and prayed for us and loved us and believed in us. Our new grandparents are coming to Germany with us in our hearts.
